Purify The Mind

Kailash Dhuliya Gorakshasan

We do not do as much as we try or take care to remove external dirt, to cleanse or remove the dirt of the mind. Only by winning the Bahirindriyas (external senses), the conscience (mind) can be won. For ‘purity of mind’ it is necessary to abandon the five disciplines of the Bahirindriyas — gandha (olfactory), rasa (rasna), rupa (chakshu), sparsh (touch) and shabda (word). ‘Dirt of the mind’ means distraction of the mind and the feeling of jealousy or hatred towards anyone is the dirt of the mind. In anger, the mind becomes distraught upon waking up of greed or greed or lust. But we do not notice this distraction, ignore it, and then it gradually dominates our body.
Physiology has proved that 80 percent of diseases occurring in the body are caused by the mind. That is, the disease is of the mind while the treatment is done by the body. It is true that the treatment of the body provides upper relief but does not yield superficial benefits or the root cause of the disease is not eliminated, it remains. In order to overcome it, it is necessary to treat ‘impurity of mind’. And the best way to do this is ashtanga yoga.
